As Hurricane Irma barrels throughout the Caribbean and toward the U.S. coast, Florida residents are frantically preparing to brace themselves for the worst storm to hit on them in decades.
“I can assure you that I don’t know anybody in Florida who’s experienced exactly what’s about to hit South Florida,” says FEMA administrator Brock Long.
Anticipating winds around 150 miles per hour & ” panic runs rampant throughout the Florida Keys up through Central Florida, & ldquo; life threatening inundation like never before. State officials also have warned residents not to underestimate Irma, a tropical storm which Gov. Rick Scott asserts will probably be “far bigger than Andrew”–the Category 5 which shook the state back in 1992.
But beneath the chaos, such as we saw with Harvey, the disaster that is impending is bringing humanity .
At a Facebook post, a bystander captured the heartwarming story of a devastated lady in Lowe’s who got the blessing from a stranger:
“THIS IS CENTRAL FLORIDA:
Pam Brekke’s dad is about oxygen. She ran to Lowe’when she realized she had missed the generator, we and s saw her breakdown in tears. A stranger, Ramon Santiago, watched her. He walked up and insisted she take his.
This was her reaction.
Writing this and with a heart full of pride for my area. ” ❤️
